How do I change the automated task default schedule?

Please read the help section PCCare Settings before attempting to change any scheduled task.

There are three scheduling intervals for tasks managed by PCCare:

Daily: EVERY DAY at a SET TIME
Weekly: EVERY SUNDAY/MONDAY etc. at a SET TIME
Monthly: EVERY 1st/2nd/3rd/4th...28th Day of the Month at a SET TIME
DAILY or WEEKLY task setting

The tasks that may be run Daily or Weekly share a common control. These tasks include the Anti-Virus Management tasks, the Internet Folder Cleanup and Correct System Clock tasks.

  1. Click the drop down control under the label Schedule to run:
    The choices are:
    every day
    every Sunday
    every Monday
    every Tuesday
    every Wednesday
    every Thursday
    every Saturday

    Scroll up or down until the scheduling option you wish is highlighted and release the mouse button.

  2. Next select the hour to run the task. Click the drop down control under the hour column:
    The choices are displayed using the 12-hour time format:

  3. Next set the minutes past the hour to run the task. Click the drop down control next to the minutes column:
    The choices are displayed using 10 minute increments:
    00
    10
    20
    30
    40

  4. Next set the morning/evening selector for the 12-hour time. Click the drop down control next to AM/PM
    The choices are:
    AM - 00:00 - 11:59; midnight until 11:59 (just before noon)
    PM - 12:00 - 23:59; noon until 11:59 (just before midnight)

    Scroll up or down until the scheduling option you wish is highlighted and release the mouse button.

Choosing between a Weekly or Monthly Schedule

The tasks that may be run Weekly or Monthly share a common control. When this is chosen, either the weekly control as above is displayed or monthly control is displayed. Tasks that use this control include Scan Disk and Defragment Hard Drive.

To save the Task and Schedule changes and Update the Settings

Once you have selected the task options and schedule as you desire, you must save the changes so PCCare will execute the tasks at the time you desire. Next to each task setting dialog is a control box with the words "Update Settings".

Click the "Update Settings" button, a confirmation dialog asking you if you want to save the changes will be displayed.

To exit the Settings Page

Once you have selected and saved the task options and schedule as you desire, you may move from the settings page back to the Status Page by several methods (please refer to the PCCare Navigation Help Page):

If you wish to exit PCCare, simply close or exit your browser. The Task Automation layer is still running with your new schedule. You may check back later to view the status or details of the tasks you have set by any of the methods in the Getting Started help page.
