Twelve (12) hours after synchronizing the system clock, PCCare will check your clock settings a second time. If it finds a small error, it will not change any settings. If, however, it finds an error (or drift) greater than five (5) minutes, it will both re-synchronize your PC clock AND report it to you.
If you repeatedly receive this error, please check that some other utility (or person) isn't setting the clock to some other time server. PCCare uses the Atomic Clocks maintained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), why use someone's wristwatch or some PC somewhere else?
If you continue to get this error, your system BIOS Battery may be weakening. the BIOS (Built In Operating System) keeps the actual time using a CMOS and Quartz Oscillator. The voltage from the battery sets te quartz to vibrating, the CMOS circuit counts the vibrations and figures out the seconds that have passed. If the battery is weak, it will not have enough power to run the clock. A drifting clock is often an early sign of battery failure. When the CMOS battery fails, the entire system will stop working.
