Why does Update Anti-Virus Definitions sometimes report that 'Virus definitions were not updated'?

If you have already set your anti-virus software to update definitions before PCCare runs, PCCare will NOT run this task and the PCCare Task status will read 'definitions were not updated". This is not a failure, there is just nothing for PCCare to do.

If your current anti-virus definitions are current, PCCare will detect and report this. Often anti-virus definitions do not change for several days. This is not a failure, there is just nothing for PCCare to do.

If your internet connection did not work, PCCare will detect and report this as well. Please check your internet settings and Cable/DSL modem and try again.

If your anti-virus subscription has expired, PCCare will report that your definitions update has failed. Please check with your anti-virus provider regarding a subscription renewal.
